Yuqi Zong

Yuqi Zong is a dual Master of Science degrees in Quantitative Economics and Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Economics in Applied Economics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. As a Project Lead collaborating with the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office, she led research teams to audit and analyze assessment of accuracy, property tax freezes, and fiscal impacts across more than 20,000 commercial parcels. At Georgia Tech’s Housing and Urban Policy (HUP) Lab, she built entity resolution frameworks in Python and SQL across 13GB+ master datasets to track corporate single-family rental holdings and modeled neighborhood crime and assessment spillovers using spatial econometrics and panel matching techniques. Additionally, she served as a Graduate Research Assistant in the School of Economics, conducting panel regressions on longitudinal healthcare datasets, and worked on nationwide power grid resilience and climate risk data extraction.  

Yuqi is passionate about quantitative urban economics, real estate economics, and local public finance, as well as the intersections between these fields. She believes that rigorous empirical analysis and neighborhood-level data linkage are essential to understanding urban housing dynamics and addressing systemic inequities. As a fellow, she is excited to be an active participant in the Center’s growing efforts to bridge the gap between academic research, municipal governance, and data-driven policymaking in Atlanta.
